6th World Recreational Fishing Conference, August 1-4, 2011, Berlin
Conference Theme Toward Resilient Recreational Fisheries
The 6th World Recreational Fishing Conference (WRFC) to be held in 2011 at the Humboldt-University in Berlin (Germany) follows the tradition of five previous international scientific conferences dealing specifically with recreational fishing. This series of conferences attended by delegates from across the world is aimed at increasing dialogue and knowledge about the diversity, dynamics and future prospects of recreational fisheries. Accordingly, the 6th WRFC in Berlin aims at providing a platform for exchange of and discussion on cutting-edge management-orientated recreational fisheries science.
In conclusion, the 6th WRFC held in Berlin in August, 2011 strives at attracting insights, findings, experiences and knowledge from across the world to build bridges over disciplinary, spatial (e.g., geographic and cultural) and emotional divides. The overall goal is to stimulate growth of new or improved mosaics of interdisciplinary knowledge interfaces capable of improving the governance and resiliency of recreational fisheries as social-ecological systems.
